Once again we have had more guests than the previous year .. we must be doing something right ! We are lucky to have such a beautiful location and some many things to do and see that we just have to provide a lovely place to stay. With most weeks occupied for Oct/Nov it would be wise for any keen fishermen/ladies to consider booking soon if they wish to have a session before the year end, the pike are certainly now starting to feed and several guests are enjoying some large bream catches as well. Kevin managed to get his elusive 20lb + pike yesterday – just – at 20,3/4lb. A good sign for the coming months.

Over the last couple of seasons we have continued to raise the standards of our properties to ensure our guests continue to be impressed and enjoy their breaks. This winter has been no different and in between the winter bookings we have freshened up the interiors of Riverview and Riversedge. New curtains throughout both, additional furniture and the lounge area in Riversedge has had a facelift with dark wooden panels now looking a rather lighter shade of magnolia.
Once again those guests have chosen winter breaks have not been disappointed . The weather has generally been very mild and as we begin to exit February we look forward to the spring just around the corner. The excellent fishing and the general lure of the Broads brings so many guests back every year. However,the locals bird and other wildlife is now becoming quite a draw with otter sightings now very regular,recently a bittern has been spotted twice.
The coming season is again looking busy so we look forward to catching up with many of you in the coming months

As the main season draws to a close we can reflect on another very successful year. All the changes and enhancements to our properties have proved extremely popular amongst our guests with many positive comments noted in the visitors books. We find this very rewarding and it makes all the efforts worthwhile. We will continue to further improve for next year and look forward to welcoming many of our regular friends back once again. For those who wish to keep their regular dates guaranteed we have now opened up the 2017 calendar .. no deposit required at this time, just let us know your requirements and we will pencil you in.
As well as many sightings of kingfishers, otters and marsh harriers there have been many other memorable occasions noted this year. The fishing of late has exceeded anything we have known before. Only last week our guests in Herne Lodge caught over 300 fish and two brothers in Riverview bagged over 700lb of fish in one week! They have rebooked again for next year and 2017 saying it was the most successful visit they have ever had. Kevin has had a good couple of weeks recently targeting pike locally with a mixture of different lures. He has caught 5 fish reaching double figures with the best being a 15.5lb – just short of the 16.5lb one he caught on a lure in February this year. He is aiming for 20lb+ this winter. The weather has remained very mild and dry as we approach the autumn and we hope this holds for the final weeks of the season. With the main season now well underway our guests have been enjoying an exceptional warm weather spell more akin to Spain than rural Norfolk. Let’s hope it continues for some time to come.
The fishermen and ladies who booked their holidays to coincide with the start of the fishing season have not been disappointed. The main species being caught are roach and bream but some good size perch have also been landed – the best being one from Riverview at just under 3lb. The biggest bag of bream reported locally has been at around 100lb,with a 3.00am start though !
Our regular guests have been quick to notice the winter upgrades. We have since continued to improve the interior furnishings with new cabinets / tables and chairs through all three of the properties which has now given an even nicer feel to each.

In between our winter bookings we have managed to squeeze in the improvements planned for Riverview and Riversedge. Riverview has had a new en-suite installed which includes a larger shower. In addition a new bath and vanity unit has upgraded the bathroom as well a new separate toilet. Riversedge has had a separate shower installed in place of the bath as well as an extra toilet and vanity unit. Our guests will now also benefit from free unlimited Wifi in both properties. Herne Lodge already has this in place.
This season looks to be the busiest we have had with so many advanced booking so we have already opened for 2016/2017 bookings for those who wish to guarantee their holidays.
Obviously a number of our guests have an interest in fishing and many having good bream catches – especially after dark. Roach , rudd and perch have been caught on a regular basis with one of our regular family guests having a competition amongst themselves with the winner getting over 100 in less than a week. Pike have been showing well over the winter with some decent weights coming in. We previously mentioned a guest getting two personal bests in October, in addition to this Kevin got a PB 16.5lb on a lure just last week. With the river now so clean we look forward to a good season of sport in the coming months.

As the main season draws to a close our recent guests have been treated to some particularly warm and pleasant weather. We have a number of regular visitors who continue to take their breaks at this time of year and are rarely disappointed. Not only has the weather been great, the fishing has been prolific at times as well. One of our regular guests caught a personal best last week with a 16lb 1oz pike off Riversedge, only to then beat it the following day with a 17.5 lb pike! The bream have been showing up as well with good some very good catches after dark.
Having had such a splendid summer, there has been plenty of opportunities to explore the beauty of The Norfolk Broads and the surrounding area. Its not just the fishing which can be enjoyed during a stay in one of our chalets,an abundance of wildlife and natural fauna can be enjoyed as well. A number of new images have been uploaded to the gallery on our website and provide you with just a glimpse of what a can be expected during your stay. We are very fortunate to have such a beautiful location.
During the winter we will be carrying out further upgrades and refurbishments to the chalets, ready for the busy 2015 season. Next year is already looking very busy with limited availability during peak weeks already. As this is filling up quite quickly we have started to take provisional bookings for 2016 so that anyone wishing to plan well ahead can do so – no deposit is required until next year.

With a new season just around the corner it looks like we have escaped the worst of the winter weather which has battered the rest of the country. Whilst many parts of the country had water everywhere other than where it should have been, locally it stayed in the rivers with minimal flood issues. Certainly our guests have enjoyed their breaks with the fishermen amongst them being very happy with their catches.
We have made use of the vacant weeks to continue enhancing the three properties. Riverview and Riversedge have had new sink/vanity units fitted in the bedroom as well as the usual makeovers. Herne Lodge now has a built in wardrobe in the main bedroom and has a completely new bathroom with walk in shower. We are sure these changes will further add to the enjoyment of visitors in the coming months.
From the availability chart you will see we now have limited availability in main part of the season – so anyone considering a week away might want to give us a call sooner rather than later. This coming year and through to the bookings we already have for 2015 are the strongest we have ever experienced and find it so satisfying that so many of our guest thoroughly enjoy coming back.

With the mixture of good weather, great fishing and the various upgrades made throughout our properties is seems our guests have had some fantastic holidays this year. So much so that we now have more than double the amount of bookings for next year than we would normally expect at this time. It is very pleasing to see that so many people have had such a great time that they wish to rebook almost immediately. This had led to some families being unable to take their first choice weeks so urge anyone who needs specific dates, to contact us as soon as possible.
