  October update

  As the main season draws to a close we can reflect on another very successful year. All the changes and enhancements to our properties have proved extremely popular amongst our guests with many positive comments noted in the visitors books. We find this very rewarding and it makes all the efforts worthwhile. We will continue to further improve for next year and look forward to welcoming many of our regular friends back once again. For those who wish to keep their regular dates guaranteed we have now opened up the 2017 calendar .. no deposit required at this time, just let us know your requirements and we will pencil you in.

  As well as many sightings of kingfishers, otters and marsh harriers there have been many other memorable occasions noted this year. The fishing of late has exceeded anything we have known before. Only last week our guests in Herne Lodge caught over 300 fish and two brothers in Riverview bagged over 700lb of fish in one week! They have rebooked again for next year and 2017 saying it was the most successful visit they have ever had. Kevin has had a good couple of weeks recently targeting pike locally with a mixture of different lures. He has caught 5 fish reaching double figures with the best being a 15.5lb – just short of the 16.5lb one he caught on a lure in February this year. He is aiming for 20lb+ this winter. The weather has remained very mild and dry as we approach the autumn and we hope this holds for the final weeks of the season.   Summer 2015

  With the main season now well underway our guests have been enjoying an exceptional warm weather spell more akin to Spain than rural Norfolk. Let’s hope it continues for some time to come.

  The fishermen and ladies who booked their holidays to coincide with the start of the fishing season have not been disappointed. The main species being caught are roach and bream but some good size perch have also been landed – the best being one from Riverview at just under 3lb. The biggest bag of bream reported locally has been at around 100lb,with a 3.00am start though !

  Our regular guests have been quick to notice the winter upgrades. We have since continued to improve the interior furnishings with new cabinets / tables and chairs through all three of the properties which has now given an even nicer feel to each.

  Further improvements/updates

  In between our winter bookings we have managed to squeeze in the improvements planned for Riverview and Riversedge. Riverview has had a new en-suite installed which includes a larger shower. In addition a new bath and vanity unit has upgraded the bathroom as well a new separate toilet. Riversedge has had a separate shower installed in place of the bath as well as an extra toilet and vanity unit. Our guests will now also benefit from free unlimited Wifi in both properties. Herne Lodge already has this in place.

  This season looks to be the busiest we have had with so many advanced booking so we have already opened for 2016/2017 bookings for those who wish to guarantee their holidays.

  Obviously a number of our guests have an interest in fishing and many having good bream catches – especially after dark. Roach , rudd and perch have been caught on a regular basis with one of our regular family guests having a competition amongst themselves with the winner getting over 100 in less than a week. Pike have been showing well over the winter with some decent weights coming in. We previously mentioned a guest getting two personal bests in October, in addition to this Kevin got a PB 16.5lb on a lure just last week. With the river now so clean we look forward to a good season of sport in the coming months.
